Vintage Chinese patinated bronze ruyi sceptre with brass dragon highlight detail
A tactile and decorative vintage Chinese ruyi sceptre (US: scepter) - a decorative and ceremonial object symbolising power and good fortune in Chinese folklore. This example is constructed of patinated brass or bronze in the form of a branch with foliate detail, petals and birds. The dragon which wraps around the branch, it's tail at the base and head terminating at the top has been highlighted for contrast.
